The Dream Team M is Vibha's premier Marathon training program that promises to take your running goals from 1 mile to completing a full Marathon while having fun along the way.  The Dream Team M has been in the San Francisco Bay area since 2011, training runners to achieve their dream of finishing a half or full Marathon. The program is offered free of charge though trainees must raise funds for our parent charity: Vibha.

The coaches, mentors, and support team members volunteer their time to help you achieve your running goals. All you need to do is show up. Completing a Marathon/Half Marathon is a life changing event in itself, but imagine the number of children whose lives were changed for the better, thanks to the opportunities these funds made available! This is the reason we are so passionate about the cause and so deeply committed to it's goals.

WHo can train

The training is open to all participants aged 16 and above. No prior running experience needed! Beginners and seasoned runners alike will enjoy and benefit from this program.

Our experienced coaches and mentors take a proactive approach to making this a positive experience and a lifelong passion.

The program also includes 2 initial training sessions where the coaches lead the trainees through warm ups, strength and core training and stretching exercises.

HALF MARATHON - 13.1 miles for a million dreams

The half Marathon training program debuted in 2011. The training program targets the Vibha Dream Mile half Marathon or an equivalent in June.

This is a gently progressive program involving one team run every Sunday, one Tuesday hill-training run and two weekday runs with the team or otherwise. We start the training with two weekend warm up, strength/core training and stretching sessions with the coaches and mentors. The first team run is 2 miles long. Each weekend, the runs gets longer, peaking at 10 miles. This is followed by a tapering period to allow runners to recover and recharge for the half Marathon.

MARATHON - 26.2 miles for a million dreams

The Marathon training program debuted in 2014. The training program targets the San Fransisco Marathon.

This is a gently progressive program involving one team run every Sunday, 1 hill training run on Tuesday and two weekday runs with the team or otherwise. We start the training with two sessions involving warm up, strength/core training and stretching with the coaches and mentors. The runners will run the Vibha Dream Mile Half Marathon as their mid-training half Marathon in June. After this the weekend runs get longer, peaking at 20 miles, followed by a tapering period, finally culminating in the Marathon race.

time commitment

The team trains on Sunday mornings (March-June) with the runs getting progressively longer. There is a hill-training run usually on Tuesdays. The remaining two weekday runs can be scheduled with the team or at the trainee's convenience.
